The Challenge
The partnership needed a clear brand identity, consistent messaging, and an accessible platform for sharing research and resources.
The Partnership for Evidence and Equity in Responsive Social Systems (PEERSS) brought together 15 organizations across 13 countries to strengthen the use of evidence in policymaking. But with such a wide scope of work—and so many partners—communicating a unified vision was a challenge.
As brand facilitator and web developer, I led the mission alignment and identity development process for this global initiative. My role was to help PEERSS find its voice — and give it the tools to be heard.

Visual identity
The brand identity for the Partnership for Evidence and Equity in Responsive Social Systems was developed through a collaborative process with many opportunities for stakeholder feedback. The original concepts for logos and color palettes were developed based on survey responses from PEERSS partners that indicated what is most important to communicate with the PEERSS brand (warm and inviting rather than powerful and corporate). Partners were invited to weigh in on proposed color palettes and proposed logo concepts, with their feedback informing revisions and ultimately determining the final brand identity.
The final delivered brand package included logos, letterhead, Zoom backgrounds, presentation decks and a brand guide.
Name & mission
Through surveys, work sessions and interviews, stakeholders from the 13 member countries established a name and mission for the project.
The new name focuses on a longer-term and more ambitious goal of Social Systems responding to problems by helping decision makers take into account evidence and equity. It is aligned with creating a culture of evidence to shape better policies. Social systems can play a critical role in transforming people’s lives, and the partnership will help strengthen them by guiding decisions based on transparent, fair and accountable processes. The acronym itself speaks to the groups collaborative work and focus on equity, as peer relationships important in establishing a healthy and strong social system.
Website
With the mission and brand identity in place, I built the partnership’s communications foundation:
• A custom Wordpress site with training materials
• A resource library with filter and search ability to organize 110+ pieces of research
• A directory to allow the 60+ stakeholders to network
• Scalable workflows to support decentralized content updates
The new infrastructure enabled country teams to share learnings, amplify one another’s work, and position PEERSS as a credible, accessible, and human-centered voice in the global policymaking ecosystem.
